HISTORY
Rosas & Xocolate is the result of an integral
project that rescued the beauty of two
exquisite mansions that were uninhabited for
thirty years. "Going into these houses,
armed with French aesthetic and nostalgic
poetry, they demanded approval of life even
in their abandonment".
The master plan and vision of the talented
architect Salvador Reyes Rios and the
designer/restoration specialist Josefina Larrain,
made use of their internationally recognized
experience restoring many former henequen
haciendas and colonial buildings, to breathe
new life and exclusivity into the project called
Rosas & Xocolate.
In one decisive stroke the spaces were maximized
with the complicity of these artists and the owner
Mr. Carol Kolozs Fisher.
Tiled floors were replicated to form carpets,
upholstery was created to coordinate with and
within the impressive spaces, antiques and
decorative pieces were restored, while finest
wood furniture and water gardens were created,
the installation of high technology equipment
together with designer lighting produce and
enhance the overall effect. The double height walls
were restored with the technique of the ancient
Mayan Chukum using the resin of the tree bearing
the same name.
The journey was immense, almost unimaginable,
showing the love for a culture of centuries.
Rosas & Xocolate. An experience that we wish
to share.
